Let me start with this: I thought Strasbourg was cold, but Zürich was 10 degrees colder and snow everywhere. We found the hall and waited 3 hours in the cold, but luckily we had some booze!
One hour before the show started, I had the chance to meet Jeordie, just a short hello, he remembered me from Strasbourg, pretty cool! So after my meeting I had to run back around the hall to the main entrance, cause I had the tickets and Sara my sweety waited for me.
OK Melissa, she really impressed me! So cute, so strong, electrical and pure rock´n´roll. Her voice so beautiful and the sound was just perfect. A very feminine performance. So she really convinced me to buy her album "Auf der Maur" this week.
Oh and before they started they played a German song, its a children's song, I learned it back in my kindergarten days! Auf der Mauer auf der Lauer sitzt ne kleine Wanze! My fav song was "I'll Be Anything You Want". I really liked her lyrics.
OK I was really nervous and excited when A Perfect Circle came on stage. Let me say something about the crowd in Zürich, you have to know in Switzerland it's almost legal to smoke pot, no wait it is legal!!! I love that country. So I guess the whole audience was completely stoned, hehehe not moving at all, but don't get me wrong that´s not a bad thing, cause I hate it when people think they have to mosh at an APC concert. But there was something missing, a special feeling in the audience, it´s a feeling which comes from the crowd, I mean the desire, the energy, I don´t know But in comparison to Strasbourg the crowd was sleeping in Zürich. The crowd in Strasbourg went nuts you know, you could feel it from every person. It´s THAT FEELING.
OK the show was impressive, Josh´s drumming was stunning. He´s an animal when he plays his drums there are no words to describe his work. I think Maynard was in a different world moving in circles and yes I love his voice. James, his solo thing pretty funny but it was not my first APC gig, so I knew the whole course.
OK now to our beloved Jeordie, some people said that he looked bored and arrogant. I think that´s not true he has this special face impression, but that´s just him.
He was definitely not bored I watched him all the time I was in heaven to see him play! And he´s so funny, between every song he ate some "Ritze" cookies, some special cookies from Switzerland, so he was chewing all the time, chewing and playing, and he was very busy to get his teeth clean with his tongue hehehe! I will never forget that scene never ever.
My fav songs: "The Package", and the alt. "Nurse"! They told us to be back in summer. They are not humans, they're crazy! One year on the road? HOW?? But I really hope they will keep the promise.
After the show I met him again, Sara waited outside, so thank you Sara for your patience, you´re the best! I asked him one very important question, it was important for me to know:
"Are you happy Jeordie?"
His answer: YES I AM!!!
That makes me happy I really have to say. I don´t know what you think but....
Combination: I really think they improved themselves. I saw APC back in September and they made a big step forward in every way. A good team, every member fits perfect and I want to thank APC for 3 amazing evenings, Strasbourg, Zürich and Cologne. I forgot all my trouble, all my pain, the reality so thank you. Can't wait to see them again.
