This was the first and very anticipated Nine Inch Nails concert for me. I live about 7 hours away from where the show was, but the drive was well worth it. A buddy and I waited outside the Savvis Center for about 5 hours. That was kind of excruciating. But again, worth it!

Ended up being in the very front row! The first band that played, Autolux, was pretty decent. I'd never heard of them before. But they put on a good show. It was noisy, and there was a lot of feedback. I couldn't understand a goddamn word the singer had to say. I don't think the crowd really got into them that much.

Then Queens of the Stone Age came on, again, a pretty good set. I think the singer was hiiiigghhhh off his ass. I mean, I could be wrong, but it was cracking me up. The band had a lot of energy, and you could feel it in the crowd.

Then...the time came to set up for Nine Inch Nails. Again, another treacherous wait but I could of shit my pants when they started setting up the bass riiigghhhttt in front of me. I mean, 5 feet away from my face. I couldn't believe it! (I'm a very dedicated Jeordie fan!). When the band came out, the crowd went apeshit, and it was beautiful. I got really squished and maintaining my position upfront was difficult, but I couldn't draw my eyes away from Jeordie. He makes the best faces sometimes. I like to call it the bass-face. You know, when he scrunches his face up and kind of frowns a little bit? It's tooo cute. From now on, every time I hear suck I'll always picture jeordie in my head, wiggling his hips around to the bassline. Aaron north, on guitar, was completely fucking nuts, jumping on speakers and just flailing all over the place. At one point, he was bent completely over backwards over an amp or something, just rockin out. I was shocked to see Trent's hair.... not there any more. I was talking to another friend of mine who went to the same concert but had seat tickets...he didn't even know Trent shaved his head because he said all he could see where shadows and silhouettes. The entire concert, there was this one guy in front of me completely pancaked against the railing by my body. It was kind of weird. He couldn't of moved but an inch the whole time. I felt bad for the guy, he was all drunk off of 8-dollar-a-pop-beers and kinda freaked out. But he definitely didn't mind my breasts impaling him in the back, which was kind of, you know, awkward. Me and my friend had a thick padding of fat people all around us, and haha, at one point my friend jumped up in the air and got stuck a few feet above the ground, from all the pressure of fat around him. That was pretty funny.

I cant remember the set list at all, and I'm not feeling particularly inclined to go find it on the internet somewhere. They opened with "Love Is Not Enough", and some of the better songs I thought they played were "Suck", "Reptile", and "Hurt". During "Hurt", they had the infamous silk screen.....with the silhouette of the band playing in the background...I absolutely loved it. During "The Hand That Feeds", the lights went off for a while and it was kind of funny to hear Trent fuck up the song "could you pleaaase turn on the lights, blahdy blah blah blah blah blah.....". I'll never forget the fear that took over me for a second when they started playing "March Of The Pigs...the crowd went absolutely insane! It was so fun. I was lucky enough to catch Jeordie's attention long enough during "Starfuckers" to blow him a kiss...which he returned with a wink! Being the giddy little girl I am, that was definitely my highlight of the show. Haha.

The stage had a really neat set-up. My memory is kind of hazy, but there were big odd-shaped.....pillar type things? I'm not sure how to describe them really, they might of been screens but I think they just reflected light...in any event, there was one point where the light on the band made them seem pixilated and disfragmented, and the pillars too. Everything about their set was very aesthetically pleasing.

All in all, this was the best concert I've ever attended, hands down. The intensity was almost unreal, and the music was amazing. I didn't expect any less.
