Kickoff night. We arrived before the doors opened just in case there was a Spiral meet-and-greet. No dice. We made a dash for the left (our left) side of the stage, because....well, that's where Jeordie is. Moving Units set was only about 5 songs long. I really liked them, I've had their CD for quite some time. They were not well received, though. Go figure. You can tell NIN fans that Trent Reznor is opening for Nine Inch Nails, and there would be someone on ETS throwing a fit. Someone actually yelled "Freebird!" and the ever-encouraging "You Suck!" Those people should whip their fucking dicks out onstage and see how easy it is. I digress.

Nine Inch Nails came on, I think this is the correct setlist, give or take a couple:

Pilgrimage (Intro)
Mr. Self Destruct
Sin
Terrible Lie
The Line Begins To Blur
March Of The Pigs
The Frail
The Wretched
Closer
The Big Come Down
Burn
Gave Up
Eraser
Right Where It Belongs
Beside You In Time
With Teeth
Wish
Only
Every Day Is Exactly The Same
Please
Even Deeper
Suck
Hurt
That Hand That Feeds
Head Like A Hole

I was most impressed with hearing Mr. Self Destruct. I don't think I have ever heard it live, it was a damn good way to open the show. My friend & I were about 2nd row in the pit, right in front of Jeordie. It should also be noted that this was THE lamest NIN crowd I've ever witnessed. (Champaign is a pretty lame town anyway, and I can say that because I live in the Indiana equivalent of it.) There was a bit of "moshing" in the center, towards Trent. Well, we ended up getting to the very front. This will never happen to me ever again. I was right in front of Jeordie. It was so surreal. I could see his eyelashes I was so close. I'm trying really hard not to be a fan girl, but you try standing that close to him and meeting his gaze. Honestly, it could have been Jeordie playing with the fucking Beatles and I would never know, because I was so into it and so close to someone I greatly admire. (And probably creeping him out a bit. I could not look away). Josh Freeze did an excelled job, I think he will fit in nicely in this lineup. Aaron was amazing, full of energy (I know...really out of character, eh?). Alassandro was awesome, churning out some fat beats for the kids.

The show was really great, in every aspect other than the crowd. The band sounded tight, the visuals were excellent (still using the silk screen!), Trent was in a great mood. He even told a joke:

"...I just wanted to let you know that I've been feeling a bit under the weather. I was puking during Eraser, now I have puke breath. I was puking up salmon...which is weird because I haven't eaten any salmon."
