JEORDIE WHITE | BASE TENDENCIES
Just wanted to update yesterday's news about Chris Goss. According to a post on the QOTSA board, Chris is now in stable condition and is getting "good care in a great hospital". If I get any other updates, I will post them on the message board. Best wishes to Chris for a speedy and full recovery.
On that note, I'd like to wish you all a very happy holiday season. Enjoy and be safe!
Details are sketchy on this one, but word has it that Jeordie and Chris Goss (and possibly Ian Astbury) recently spent time in the studio working on tracks with UNKLE for an upcoming project. UNKLE, a band out of the UK which can best be described as a hybrid of trip-hop/electronica and rock, have two albums to their name, 2004's Never Never Land and 1998's Psyence Fiction, which boast appearances from guest artists such as Josh Homme, DJ Shadow, Thom Yorke and Jason Newsted. If I find out anything further on this project, I'll be sure to post the information here.
On the heels of this, however, there is sad news being reported from qotsa.com. Chris has apparently fallen ill and is hospitalized in critical condition. Well wishes would be appreciated and can be sent to him c/o Eisenhower Memorial Hospital, 39000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270. Get well soon, Chris.
A news brief posted last week at prosoundnews.com perhaps sheds a little more light as to Jeordie's involvement with Nine Inch Nails. It reads partially as follows:
Oasis just finished a month of overdubs and mixing in The Village's Studio A with producer Dave Sardy and engineer Greg Gordon, assisted by Andy Brohard. At the same time, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and and guitarists Twiggy Ramirez and Gem Archer, worked with longtime engineer Alan Moulder (with Jason Wormer assisting), in Studio D, tracking, overdubbing and mixing for a new album.
As an added note, Gem Archer is also Oasis' rhythm guitarist and, as those of you who've been paying attention know, there have been several exclusive photos given to this site showing Jeordie jamming with Liam Gallagher of Oasis. Courtney Love has also been working on her latest project at The Village with Billy Corgan and, as reported here yesterday, Jeordie is apparently contributing to this project as well. Quite a bit of intermingling and overlapping of talent going on lately, it seems. Stay tuned for any further developments...
Meanwhile, you can go here to read the Prosounds article in its entirety. Thanks to The NIN Hotline for the find.
According to a new interview with New Music Express, Courtney Love states that she is currently working on writing new material with Billy Corgan with a little help from Jeordie, as well as Panic Channel (and ex-Jane's Addiction) bandmates Dave Navarro and Steve Perkins. The full interview can be found in the Christmas edition of the magazine, available at newsstands now.
As was pretty much assumed, mastersofreality.com has announced that MoR's European tour which was supposed to take place in November has been postponed until early next year. The new dates are expected to be announced sometime after the New Year. Of course, I will do my best to confirm whether or not Jeordie is still planning to appear with them and once I have some information, I will pass it on.
If every picture tells a story....what do you suppose the story is here? To be continued??
In the meantime, this page might be worth your checking out -- four new "exclusive" type photos have been added, one of which shows Jeordie hanging with Barry Gibb of the legendary Bee Gees (Jeordie's the short guy on your right).
Although it is still listed on The Tonight Show's website, A Perfect Circle's November 3rd appearance has been cancelled. This information was passed along to the Paz Lenchantin fansite simplypaz.com by Paz herself, who was scheduled to perform with the band that night. Further information from aperfectcircle.org states that the cancellation is due to Maynard's being busy both with doing press for eMOTIVe and working with Tool.
A new photo page has been added which will every now and again be updated with photos exclusive to this site. The first three photos to be added are of Jeordie hanging with Liam Gallagher of Oasis. Check them out here.
For those of you who didn't get a chance to see the Metallica documentary "Some Kind of Monster", which captured a glimpse of Jeordie's audition for the band, drummer Lars Ulrich has confirmed with Launch Radio Networks that it will be released in DVD format in January of 2005. Additionally, Joe Berlinger, one of the film's directors, has stated that the DVD will most likely come in two editions: an initial double-disc set featuring the movie and plenty of bonus material plus a four disc package that could include as much as four and a half hours of edited footage which didn't make the film.
Finally, in A Perfect Circle news, aperfectcircle.net reports that the band will appear live on The Tonight Show on Wednesday, November 3rd.
The Candid gallery has been updated with five photos taken during a stop at a Salt Lake City, UT radio station during APC's recent world tour. Thanks to KariAnn for sending these in.
Got a little Thanksgiving treat for everyone in the way of a new photo just added to the Exclusive gallery. Have a very happy and safe holiday!
Good news for those of you who have been looking for Amboog-A-Lard merchandise. Original bassist Barry Alpert (currently fronting Faith In Chaos) has now made available online several items, including the following: a CD containing 8 pro-demo tracks recorded in 1990 and 1991 featuring Jeordie on guitar and a Video CD which features 2 hours of live performance clips and backstage footage (note: Windows Media Player is required to view). Click here to check it out. Thanks to Penicillin Penny for forwarding the info.
Nine photos from the photo gallery featured on aMOTION have been added to the Candid page. There are more on the DVD, however, the quality isn't all that great so I decided against adding them. Thanks to Elle Sixx at jamesiha.org for the captures, as doing them myself was proving to be a little...tricky. For those who are unaware, aMOTION is available in record stores today.
The photo updates keep coming in, and with this one, the plot thickens...

Continuing to forge ahead and flirt with different styles of music, Jeordie took some time over the summer to make an appearance on Blood Music, the new album by Vancouver, BC based rap/hip hop group Dead Celebrity Status. Produced by Danny Saber, the album also boasts appearances by Dave Navarro and Steve Perkins of Jane's Addiction, Joss Stone, Biff Naked and Limp Bizkit's DJ Lethal. For more information on the group and to listen to some of the tracks from the album, check out their official website at www.deadcelebritystatus.com. You can purchase the album online here. Thanks to Jessie for the tip.
Two photos have been added to the Exclusive page. But those of you here in the U.S. are not allowed to look at them until you vote. Get out there today and make a difference!
For all of you Twigophiles out there, the Manson era candid photo gallery has been updated with a photo that was taken at a Hollywood party back in 1999. The photo -- and the newly created page -- can be accessed here.
Coming back to present day affairs, work continues on the Jeordie/Chris Goss collaboration, with much progress having been made over the last month or so. Word has it that Dave Catching, who is currently on the road with The Eagles of Death Metal, is one of the artists who will appear on the album. The album will hopefully be mixed by year's end or sooner, although there is no projected release date as yet.
Just wanted to let everyone know that Masters of Reality have pulled out of their scheduled appearance at the Vernier sur Rock festival on November 6th. No reason is given on the festival's web page, nor is any further information available at this time regarding MoR's touring plans.
