The UK's BBC Radio 1 will broadcast Marilyn Manson's performance last year at London's Docklands Arena as part of a four hour program tonight called "Black Xmas". The show can be heard sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. British Time and is also available via the Radio 1's website by clicking here and then by clicking on "Listen Live".

When Amoeba Music, billed as “the largest independent record store on the planet”, had it’s grand opening in Los Angeles last Saturday morning, Twiggy was among the many record collectors who’d waited in line -- some from 4:30 in the morning -- to get first grabs at the merchandise when the doors opened at 10:30 a.m. Other first-in-liners included Beck, Wynona Ryder and Jim Wilson of the Rollins Band.

I've added two new pictures -- one from GGG/Ozzfest in the Live section, and one from the "Tainted Love" video in the Candid/Miscellaneous section.

The "Tainted Love" video premiere and Making of the Video special will air as follows on MTV: Monday, November 19 at 8:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.; Tuesday, November 20 at 3:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, November 21 at 1:30 p.m. All times are Eastern Standard Time.

According to the Guns, God & Government DVD will be released next month and is available for pre-order. A VHS version will ship on December 18, followed by the DVD version on December 25. I must caution, however, that this site has on occasion jumped the gun on release dates and there has not been an official announcement of a release date from Manson's people as yet.

The video for "Tainted Love" was shot this past weekend in Los Angeles. Directed by Philip Atwell (Eminem, Dr. Dre), it is scheduled to premiere on November 19. MTV was reportedly also on hand for the shoot, filming a "Making of the Video" special. The "Tainted Love" single hits record stores on December 4th.

Life On Mars' reopening bash, at which Twiggy was scheduled to appear as a Guest DJ this Friday, has been cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances", according to its web page. The event will be rescheduled at some time in the future, but whether Twiggy will still DJ was not specified. You can join the Life On Mars mailing list for future updates (see my news item of October 21st for the link to the web page) or check back here for further information as it becomes available.

Expect to see a video for the soundtrack single "Tainted Love" in the near future. Marilyn Manson will reportedly film the video in the next few weeks in Los Angeles. Hopefully this will include appearances by the band members as well as the man himself.

Seven more photos from the GGG/Ozzfest tours can now be found on the Live photos page.

Marilyn Manson has covered Soft Cell's 1980's hit, "Tainted Love", which will be the single from the soundtrack of the film "Not Another Teen Movie", which hits theatres sometime in November. The single is due to be released in early November. Meanwhile, the music composed by the band for the "From Hell" soundtrack will not be used because, according to the Official Marilyn Manson website, "no agreement could be reached". The only Manson music that will appear on the soundtrack is a remix of "The Nobodies".

The set list for the October 8, 2001 Los Angeles show, due to be released as a DVD in early 2002 (and reportedly also to be shown on Pay Per View on New Year's Eve) is as follows:

Irresponsible Hate Anthem
The Reflecting God
Great Big White World
Disposable Teens
The Fight Song
The Nobodies
Rock is Dead
The Dope Show
Cruci-Fiction in Space
Sweet Dreams (are made of this)
The Love Song
The Death Song
Antichrist Superstar

The Gear page has been updated and two more GGG/Ozzfest shots have been added to the Live photos page.

I now feel confident in saying that it's a no-go as far as Manson joining the Ozzy/Rob Zombie tour. The third band has just been announced and it's NOT Manson (for anyone who is interested, it's Soil). More than likely Manson will want to concentrate on making new music after next week's LA show, which is just as well -- perhaps this means not too long a wait for the next album, as well as for Manson to do his own headlining tour.
