According to pollstar.com, a new date has been added to the Ozzfest tour - June 29 in Mountain View, California at the Shoreline Ampitheatre. No word yet as to when tickets go onsale. Check back here or with the Ozzfest site for that information. Also, it is looking very likely that the band will perform August 18 and 19 at the Summer Sonic festival in Japan. Confirmation of the line up is expected on March 30.
More news on the Denver show. It now appears that Marilyn Manson WILL NOT be playing at this one. According to an article in today's Denver Post, Manson has pulled out of the line up due to a "prior commitment," but speculation is that the Columbine shooting was a factor in the cancellation. For anyone planning on going to the Denver Ozzfest, please note that the date has been changed from June 22 to June 21. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, March 24.
Ozzfest.com has announced the venues in which pit tickets will be available and will be holding presales which can be accessed through their site. You will have to fill out a short form, after which you will be given the link to the purchase page. Pit tickets will be made available for presale during a 12 hour period prior to being released to the general public. The markets for which pit tickets will be available are San Bernardino, Bristow, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Dallas, St. Louis, Kansas City and San Antonio. For further information on the presale times, etc., go the Ozzfest site. It would probably also be a good idea to get on their mailing list to be kept up to date with all the latest information.
The full listing of Ozzfest dates is now up in the Tour Dates section. Whichever show you wish to attend, keep an eye out for presales. While the official Manson site hasn't said anything as yet, there is a presale for the Chicago show starting at 12 Noon CST on Thursday, March 15 through Ticketmaster (tickets go on sale to the general public on Sunday the 18th). Not sure where to get the password (or if one is needed) but hopefully the offical site will give out that information soon. If I find out the password or information about any other presales (so far it looks like Chicago is the only one), I'll post the info here as soon as I get it.
Several more dates have been confirmed for Ozzfest, along with onsale dates and I have listed them in the Tour Dates section. The full schedule is expected to be released sometime tomorrow.
According to the official WBCN website Marilyn Manson will be among the headliners at the WBCN River Rave to be held at Foxboro Stadium in Foxboro, Massachussets on May 26th. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale through Ticketmaster on March 15th.
You may have heard that Ozzfest will be at Milton Keynes in the U.K. on May 26th, however, at this point Marilyn Manson will not be appearing in the line up due to "commitments in other parts of the world".
Thanks to everyone who's stopped by so far and to those who've signed the guestbook. Keep checking back, as I'll be updating regularly!!
According to it's official website, Marilyn Manson has signed on to perform at Austria's Two Days A Week festival being held on August 30 and 31 in Wiesen. Check the site for more information. To view the site in English, click here.
Marilyn Manson finished up their European run on Saturday, February 24th with a concert at Moscow's Olympiski Hall. Their first time ever visit to Moscow, the show had to be postponed from the 23rd to the 24th when the band's equipment was delayed en route from Finland (the delay said to have been caused by a combination of heavy snow and failure to pay a "bribe" to Russian officials to move things along faster). After a short break, the tour will commence on March 11th in Tokyo, Japan, the first of 7 dates in The Land of the Rising Sun. The date on the 11th was recently added as the result of both shows scheduled in Tokyo for the 19th and 20th being sold out. No word yet on whether this leg of the tour will include a stop in Australia.
Holy Wood (In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Death) is among the nominees for Outstanding Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album in the 24th California Music Awards. Others albums nominated in this category are R (Queens of the Stone Age), White Pony (Deftones), Infest (Papa Roach) and Mer de Noms (Perfect Circle). The awards will take place on April 28th at the Calvin Simmons Theater in Oakland, California.
The Orville H. Gibson Guitar Awards nominees were announced on Wednesday, February 7th and Twiggy has been nominated in the category of Best Bassist (Male) along with Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adam Clayton of U2, Sting, and Colin Greenwood of Radiohead. The winners will be announced in a ceremony to take place on February 20th at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
Twiggy performs on three songs on the recently released Godhead CD 2000 Years of Human Error: "I Sell Society" (Bass), "Break You Down" (Bass and Rhythm Guitar) and title track "2000 Years of Human Error" (Bass, Rhythm Guitar and a writing credit). Godhead recently wrapped up their opening stint on the Guns, God and Government tour.
Stepping outside of his role in Marilyn Manson for a bit, Twiggy will be one of the artists contributing music to the soundtrack for the film "Rock Star", scheduled for nationwide release on April 13 and starring Mark Wahlberg as the singer of fictional 80's rock band Steel Dragon. The album should hit the record stores on April 3 and also features music by Ritchie Blackmore, Sammy Hagar and Desmond Child, among others.
