JEORDIE WHITE

NEWS ARCHIVES: 2008

Wednesday, 12.31.08

[10:38] Hollywood.TV caught up with Jeordie on a recent night out and conducted a brief on-the-spot interview which you can watch here. Thanks to lauralynn for sending it in. Hope everyone has a happy and safe New Year! Lots to look forward to in 2009!

Wednesday, 12.24.08

[06:23] While checking out some video footage of Alain Johannes' amazing set from the Buddyhead holiday party Sunday night, I stumbled upon this little gem from around 2004, which features Jeordie, Josh Freese and Dave Catching jamming out together at a small Hollywood club known as the Lava Lounge. Yeah, I know I've probably posted this here before, and that some of you may have already seen it, but just watch it again -- it's fun! To those of you who haven't seen it before -- Merry Christmas! Note to Goon Moon fans: Right around the halfway point, you will no doubt recognize a little tune which goes today by the name of "Feel Like This".

Monday, 12.22.08

[19:35] I know some of you, myself included, headed down to the Buddyhead Holiday party last night in anticipation of being able to see Jeordie perform a few acoustic songs along with a bunch of other talented folks who were scheduled to appear. As you know, Jeordie's set never happened. Goon Moon's Fred Sablan (who also never got the chance to perform) has posted a blog on their myspace page, explaining everything. The really good news here is that it appears that the band really wants to do some live stuff in the not too distant future -- let's keep our fingers crossed that they can pull it all together!

Friday, 12.19.08

[16:47] Marilyn Manson appears in the new issue of "Revolver" magazine and gives some brand new insight into the forthcoming record. Here is what he had to say when asked specifically about Jeordie:

Revolver: How has your relationship with Twiggy changed since you last worked together?

MM: We haven't been together as friends in sometime and I think we both filled the void with different relationships and different ideas. But we clearly missed each other and were actually going through parallel emotions without knowing it. In his time away from me Twiggy has grown as a musician and as a guitar player. He's really taken the lead as a guitar player; he plays all the stringed instruments on the album and occasionally some keyboards and different things. I play guitar on one song. I recorded myself snorting lines of something - whatever it may have been - as a percussion instrument.

If you want to read the entire article, someone over at ETS was kind enough to transcribe it in full. I definitely suggest that you check it out.

In other Manson news, lots of rumors are circulating that Manson and Slayer will team up once again this summer to co-headline the 2009 Mayhem tour. Nothing's confirmed as yet, but I will keep everyone posted one way or another.

Looks like advance tix for Sunday night's Holiday celebration are sold out, but you can still get tickets at the door. The venue only holds approximately 150-200 people, so I'd advise getting there early just to be sure you get in. This promises to be a very special evening that you don't want to miss!

Friday, 12.12.08

[21:35] In keeping with the spirit of the season, the dudes over at Buddyhead are plotting and planning their third annual Holiday celebration, which takes place this year on December 21st at the very intimate Hotel Cafe in Hollywood. Turning down the volume a bit this time around, they've got quite a dish of talent to serve up in the form of some low key, one of a kind acoustic performances -- including a scheduled appearance by Jeordie! Other artists on the evening's roster include The Entrance Band, Josh Homme, Aaron North, Alessandro Cortini, Sweethead, Birthday Twin (featuring Goon Moon's Fred Sablan), Tony Bevilacqua, Wires On Fire and...well, the list just goes on and on, with even more special guests to be added in the days to come. This shit's gonna more than compensate for that sucky office party you have to suffer through once again this year! For full details and to purchase advance tickets, hurry on over to hotelcafe.com. And I do mean hurry, as I'm sure these are gonna go fast.

Tuesday, 12.9.08

[20:19] If you haven't been to Jeordie's youtube page lately, head on over and check out a pretty good quality video he just added of Goon Moon performing "Sleep With A Gun" live in San Francisco back in December. You'll need to scroll down to the "Vlog" section. (And while you're there, scroll further down to the "favorites" box and check out some epic footage of Pink Floyd performing live at Pompeii. R.I.P. Richard Wright).

Friday, 8.22.08

[06:28] Though very busy with both Goon Moon and Marilyn Manson over the last few months, Jeordie has also taken time to add another credit to his already lengthy resume by lending a hand in the studio to pioneering British DJ/Producer Adam Freeland on his recently completed fourth LP. With additional contributions from Brody Dalle and Tony Bevilacqua (Distillers/Spinnerette) and Joey Santiago (Pixies), Freeland describes the record's sound as "somewhere between Soul Wax and Sonic Youth, Justice and My Bloody Valentine". Title and release date are not available at this time. For more information, check out this recent interview or go to Freeland's official website at marineparade.net.

Tuesday, 8.19.08

[09:35] The timetable for this week's ETP Festival in Seoul has now been released. Marilyn Manson takes over the headlining slot on Friday, August 15th and is set to hit the stage at 21:50. If anyone out there will be in attendance, please feel free to send in your reviews and photos.

[07:17] In a new interview with NME magazine, Oasis' Noel Gallagher speaks a little bit about Jeordie and hanging out with Marilyn Manson after Manson's shows in Los Angeles back in February. Read the excerpt here. The magazine with the full interview hits newsstands tomorrow.

Monday, 8.4.08

[16:35] For anyone out there who is still in search of the now rare Goon Moon UNIPO figure, I found one up for grabs today at this location. Better hurry, it probably won't be around for much longer!

Saturday, 8.2.08

[09:29] ...and then, there's this one.

[07:48] Check out the nice new pictures over at Goon Moon's myspace page.

Wednesday, 7.16.08

[09:28] More photo updates going on over at Goon Moon's myspace page. Have a look.

Monday, 7.14.08

[13:09] A new photo has been added to Goon Moon's myspace. Direct linkage here.

Thursday, 7.10.08

[16:28] The Korean festival date is now officially confirmed. Tix are on sale now and can be purchased here.

Tuesday, 7.8.08

[06:21] No official confirmation/announcement by the Manson camp as yet, but according to the festival's official website, Marilyn Manson is listed among the performers scheduled to appear at the ETP Festival which takes place in Seoul, South Korea on August 14th and 15th. With the date not yet listed on Manson's official website, can't be sure that the band really will be appearing, but giving everyone a heads up just in case. If I hear anything further on this either way, I'll let everyone know.

Saturday, 7.5.08

[06:47] Bunch of new tracks added overnight to Goon Moon's myspace page: "early" versions of "Feel Like This" and "Balloon", a new version of "Golden Ball" ("Love Bird Silver Ball") and what appears to be one of Jeordie's own tracks called "Move Along". All are downloadable, so grab 'em while you can! Good stuff!!

Friday, 7.4.08

[22:51] A new picture has been added to Goon Moon's photo album on their myspace page.

Thursday, 7.3.08

[13:20] Goon Moon co-founder Chris Goss makes a brief mention of starting work on a new Goon Moon record in an article posted today at billboard.com. Read it here. . While Jeordie has been hard at work in the studio with Marilyn Manson these past few months (more details on that hopefully soon!), Goss has been working on a new Masters of Reality record, currently set for an August release.

Tuesday, 7.1.08

[14:45] Another update on the Goon Moon page: a version of "Apple Pie" without the vocals is now up on the music player and available for download.

[10:38] If you haven't already seen it, there's a new blog posted on Goon Moon's myspace page.

Sunday, 6.29.08

[16:11] Once again Goon Moon has sent out a myspace bulletin regarding this, and I'm helping to spread the word: Jeordie is not affiliated with any myspace page outside of Goon Moon's official page and Marilyn Manson's official page. All others are fakes or are fan pages. The fan pages I'm aware of all clearly state that they are not official, so there's little room for confusion there as long as you can be bothered to read. Here, however, are examples of a couple of fakes:

www.myspace.com/jeordiewhite71
www.myspace.com/twiggyramirezofficial

PWN'D!!

Bottom line is this: if it's not Goon Moon's or Marilyn Manson's myspace, it's not connected to Jeordie. Please be aware of this and let all your friends know as well.

Thursday, 6.26.08

[22:33] New photos from Jeordie's birthday are up at Goon Moon's myspace page. Have a look at them here.

Monday, 6.23.08

[14:20] The link for the $150.00 Unipo set that I posted on Friday keeps going bad, even though I've fixed it several times. To get to that page, just go to ipecac.com and click on "Store" on the menu bar at the top. The Unipo collection can be found on the first page. Also, since it was too hot out here over the weekend to do much of anything besides surf the web in the comfort of my air conditioned home, I dug up another review of "Licker's Last Leg", which can be read here.

Friday, 6.20.08

[09:44] Goon Moon posted a new blog update this morning. Among the things mentioned was [yet another] reminder that the *ONLY* myspace pages that Jeordie is affiliated with are the Goon Moon official page and Marilyn Manson's official page. They also advise that a Goon Moon online store is in the works, though there are no details yet as to a launch date. Finally, be sure to get your Goon Moon Unipo figure, which are in limited supply. Right now the only place I can find them at is this location but they are only being sold as part of a complete set for $150.00 USD. You can also keep an eye out here where, as of about a week ago, you could purchase the figures individually. Perhaps they will make that option available again in the future. If all else fails, you can always keep an eye out on eBay. Anyway, you can read the new blog in its entirety by clicking here. While there, be sure to send your best wishes to Jeordie, who's celebrating his birthday today.

Friday, 6.13.08

[13:38] Two new songs have been added to Goon Moon's music player on their myspace page -- "This Song Don't Belong" and "Apartment 31". The latter track, for those of you new to Goon Moon, can be found on their 2005 EP "I Got A Brand New Egg Layin' Machine". If you like what you hear, you can purchase the full EP at this location.

Saturday, 5.31.08

[08:02] Somebody in Goon Moon has something against some dude named Spencer. Or maybe they just didn't like that 80's TV series about some dude named Spencer. Check out the new track now over at their myspace page.

Friday, 5.16.08

[15:02] Goon Moon's rockin' their myspace page with a brand new track entitled "Little Darlings". Hurry on over and check it out -- this one's downloadable as well.

Friday, 5.09.08

[13:42] To answer a couple of questions making the rounds: yes, this really is Jeordies youtube page and no, he will not be touring with NIN this time around, as he is currently in the studio with Marilyn Manson writing and recording a new record which I have no doubt will deliver the goods. News may be a little slow for the moment, but there is lots to look forward to so...stay tuned!

Friday, 4.25.08

[08:26] Goon Moon's on a roll, having added another new track called "Never Heard a OLD Woman cuSS" to their myspace page. Good stuff, head over for a listen!

Wednesday, 4.23.08

[11:33] Goon Moon wants everyone to know that if you're in the Los Angeles area, you can now pick up "Licker's Last Leg" vinyl at Amoeba Music in Hollywood. Their address is 6400 W. Sunset Blvd. and their phone number is (323)245-6400. For the hell of it, I just now called Amoeba's San Francisco store and was told that they currently have three vinyls in stock that they just got in on the 10th. They are located at 1855 Haight St. and the phone number is (415)831-1200. The person who answered the phone was willing to hold a copy for me, sooo....if you are interested in securing a copy, you might want to give them a call. I did check with the Berkeley, CA location as well, but no luck there. Please note that the album can still be ordered online at this location.

Friday, 4.18.08

[07:05] More great music from Goon Moon! Check out "Phantom Legkickingjohninhell" here.

Tuesday, 4.15.08

[20:52] There's a couple new tracks on Goon Moon's myspace page -- go listen!

Monday, 4.14.08

[13:44] Here are some pictures from Marilyn Manson's Los Angeles performance on 2/23/08 that I haven't seen posted anywhere else as yet. Also, though there are no specifics to share at the moment, things are looking very positive for us to be seeing more of Goon Moon before 2008 is over. Whether this involves a new record, more touring, or both, remains to be seen. Be sure to show your Goon Moon love over on their official myspace page.

Tuesday, 4.08.08

[19:20] Since news has been kind of slow lately, and since some of you are still wondering about this, I thought I'd take some time to report on what Jeordie's NOT doing -- and that would be touring with NIN on their upcoming U.S. trek starting this summer. For more info on the [sort of] new[ish] lineup, all you need to know can be found on nin.com or any of the NIN-related fansites. As to what he IS doing, he is currently holed up in a studio somewhere working on a new Marilyn Manson record. More stuff should be forthcoming from Goon Moon as well, as soon as everyone's schedule is a little less chaotic. As soon as I know more, so will you.

Tuesday 4.01.08

[18:02] A new video has just been added over at Goon Moon's myspace page. Check it out here. And no, it's not just you -- I don't think there's supposed to be any sound.

Sunday 3.30.08

[12:33] If you weren't able to make it out to a show, or if you didn't have a chance to hit the merch booth at any shows you attended, you can now purchase on line a Manson & Twiggy T-Shirt from the recent "Rape Of The World" tour at Marilyn Manson's official store. I know a lot of you have been looking for a Twiggy T-shirt, so I wanted to pass along the info. Of course, there's lots of other stuff available for purchase as well, so have a look around.

Monday 3.24.08

[06:00] A new acoustic track, "Flowers For You", appeared overnight on Goon Moon's music player, and there's a bunch of new photos as well.

Wednesday 3.19.08

[06:23] The myspace fun continues as Jeordie shows off his new ink in Goon Moon's photo album. If you figure out what it means, you win....the satisfaction of being smarter than the rest of us.

Tuesday 3.18.08

[13:00] Goon Moon's music player has been updated with...well, not exactly music. Clicky clicky and have a listen to "The Black" and "Mother".

Sunday 3.16.08

[07:35] Six new photos have been uploaded on Goon Moon's myspace page. Head on over and find 'em! Is there a hint in any of these photos as to Manson's new record? You decide...

Saturday 3.15.08

[09:51] Goon Moon updated their myspace page today to assure everyone that Jeordie is still very much a part of Goon Moon and that the band will record and play shows again when everyone's respective schedules ease up some. As most of you probably know by now, Jeordie will be taking time out to work with Marilyn Manson on a new record, while the other members of Goon Moon concentrate on their own projects. To read the entire blog and see what everyone else in Goon Moon is up to, go here.

Thursday 3.13.08

[10:06] The tour may be over, but the collaboration between Manson and Jeordie is not. Jeordie is fully expected to be a part of the fun as Manson prepares to work on his seventh studio album. And though everyone is busy right now with their own respective projects, you can expect to hear more from Goon Moon this year as well. More info on all of the above as soon as I have some details to share.

Friday 3.7.08

[06:24] The "Loveline" radio show's webpage has a photo of Jeordie and Manson taken the night of their appearance on the show back in January. You can check it out here. Once on the page, click "Thumbnail View" and scroll down to the third row.

Monday 3.3.08

[16:10] Found a review of the Dallas show. Check it out here.

[05:52] Check out photos from the Dallas show at this location.

Sunday 3.2.08

[11:24] Been digging through the vaults again and updated the Media page with a couple of goodies (scroll down to "Live Performance"). First up, I've added videos of Jeordie, Trent Reznor, Peter Murphy and Atticus Ross performing "A Stange Kind Of Love" and "Reptile". These were part of a special series of pre-show performances on NIN's summer 2006 tour which took place in several cities and which were witnessed only by a handful of radio show contest winners (and perhaps select members of NIN's fan club). Next, I've added audio of a jam that took place back in August 2004 at a little coffeehouse out in Joshua Tree, CA called the Beatnik Cafe. This was part of a weekly internet broadcast called "Peacenik at the Beatnik" and features Jeordie performing with Chris Goss, Dave Catching, Whitey Kirst and Zach Hill. Anyone besides me think that some of the riffs in the beginning are eerily reminiscent of the track "Lay Down" off of "Licker's Last Leg"?

Saturday 2.23.08

Just a reminder that the "Licker's Last Leg" vinyl is officially released in Europe and the UK this Monday, February 25th. I just received mine the other day, cool stuff. Go here to get yours.

The January 23rd edition of New Jersey music publication The Aquarian features an interview with Marilyn Manson where he talks more about the reunion and plans for the new material he'll be working on with Jeordie. You can read what he has to say here.

Monday 1.28.08

Some news to report on the Goon Moon front: while all of the band members are currently busy with other projects, look for everyone to reconvene in the next few months to record a new Goon Moon album. Be sure to head over to their myspace page and add them to your friends list!

Wednesday 1.16.08

Many of you have been asking for it, and now you've got it: "Apple Pie" has been added to Goon Moon's player on their myspace page. Oh yeah, and for those of you who are new here or haven't been around these parts in awhile, Jeordie has this awesomely cool band called Goon Moon. Check out their stuff at their official myspace page by clicking here and be sure to add yourself to their friends list.

Tuesday 1.15.08

Wednesday 1.09.08

OK, here's the news you've all been waiting for: Jeordie will be joining Marilyn Manson on Manson's upcoming U.S. tour which kicks off next week in Orlando, Florida. Saturday 1.05.08

The holiday season is now officially over and for most of us, this means getting down to business and getting back to work. Jeordie is no exception. Suffice it to say that the fans are going to be really happy with what he's got in store for everyone in 2008, so sit tight and keep your eyes and ears open...shit's gonna go off!

Thursday 1.03.08

The "Licker's Last Leg" vinyl edition is now available for preorder at this location. The official release date (UK/Europe) is still set for Monday, February 25th, but if you preorder it, you will receive it as soon as it is in stock, before the release date. If you still need convincing that this is a really good album, here is another review I found a few days ago which, like so many reviews before it, gives this lovely little record a big thumbs up.

Wednesday 1.02.08

Happy New Year and welcome to 2008. Some REALLY cool stuff lies ahead, so stay tuned...
