DECEMBER 2004

Just wanted to update yesterday's news about Chris Goss. According to a post on the QOTSA board, Chris is now in stable condition and is getting "good care in a great hospital". If I get any other updates, I will post them on the message board. Best wishes to Chris for a speedy and full recovery.

On that note, I'd like to wish you all a very happy holiday season. Enjoy and be safe!

Details are sketchy on this one, but word has it that Jeordie and Chris Goss (and possibly Ian Astbury) recently spent time in the studio working on tracks with UNKLE for an upcoming project. UNKLE, a band out of the UK which can best be described as a hybrid of trip-hop/electronica and rock, have two albums to their name, 2004's Never Never Land and 1998's Psyence Fiction, which boast appearances from guest artists such as Josh Homme, DJ Shadow, Thom Yorke and Jason Newsted. If I find out anything further on this project, I'll be sure to post the information here.

On the heels of this, however, there is sad news being reported from qotsa.com. Chris has apparently fallen ill and is hospitalized in critical condition. Well wishes would be appreciated and can be sent to him c/o Eisenhower Memorial Hospital, 39000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270. Get well soon, Chris.

A news brief posted last week at prosoundnews.com perhaps sheds a little more light as to Jeordie's involvement with Nine Inch Nails. It reads partially as follows:

Oasis just finished a month of overdubs and mixing in The Village's Studio A with producer Dave Sardy and engineer Greg Gordon, assisted by Andy Brohard. At the same time, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and and guitarists Twiggy Ramirez and Gem Archer, worked with longtime engineer Alan Moulder (with Jason Wormer assisting), in Studio D, tracking, overdubbing and mixing for a new album.

As an added note, Gem Archer is also Oasis' rhythm guitarist and, as those of you who've been paying attention know, there have been several exclusive photos given to this site showing Jeordie jamming with Liam Gallagher of Oasis. Courtney Love has also been working on her latest project at The Village with Billy Corgan and, as reported here yesterday, Jeordie is apparently contributing to this project as well. Quite a bit of intermingling and overlapping of talent going on lately, it seems. Stay tuned for any further developments...

Meanwhile, you can go here to read the Prosounds article in its entirety. Thanks to The NIN Hotline for the find.

According to a new interview with New Music Express, Courtney Love states that she is currently working on writing new material with Billy Corgan with a little help from Jeordie, as well as Panic Channel (and ex-Jane's Addiction) bandmates Dave Navarro and Steve Perkins. The full interview can be found in the Christmas edition of the magazine, available at newsstands now.
