NEWS ARCHIVES - DECEMBER 2003

December 31, 2003

MTV News will present a one hour special designed to give viewers "an in-depth look at the not-so-perfect turbulence and triumph of A Perfect Circle". Included will be an interview with Maynard James Keenan, cuts from Thirteenth Step and the "scoop" behind the album's title. Yeah, it's MTV, and I don't have high hopes that this will reveal to the world anything new, exciting or shocking, but I thought I'd pass along the info anyway. You never know. Showtimes are as follows: Monday, January 5th at 6 a.m., 12 Noon and 6 p.m.; Saturday, January 10th at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. All times are Eastern Standard Time.

Along with his growing list of musical credits, "photographer" can now be added to Jeordie's resume. His newest artistic venture has him receiving credit as one of several photographers contributing to photos and artwork on Skew Siskin's newest release entitled Album of the Year. The photo taken by Jeordie, which appears on page 16 of the album's accompanying booklet, can be viewed here. Skew Siskin begins a European tour starting in late February/early March. For more information on the band, you can visit their official website at www.skewsiskin.net. Thanks to twikkie for the info.

In other news, the EP which Jeordie produced for SoCal rockers March several months ago can now be purchased for $5.99 plus shipping and handling by going to this location.

For those who have been wondering whether Jeordie will still have a role in the upcoming "Live Freaky! Die Freaky!" animated film as announced several months ago, yes, he is still involved and will, in fact, be recording his part during A Perfect Circle's current break from touring. The film is currently scheduled for an April 2004 release. Thanks to John Roecker for the update.

According to the Melissa Auf der Maur fansite Firecrasher, Melissa will open for A Perfect Circle on their European trek. It is not clear whether this will be for the entire tour or for select dates. Jeordie and James are two of the many artists who contributed to Melissa's solo album, due to be released in the first half of the new year.

Finally, a third review of the December 9 Grand Rapids show from popmatters.com has been added to the Reviews page. A popular show, this one.

The Desert Sessions performance on the Tonight Show, which had been scheduled for December 18th, now seems to be up in the air. The latest listing on the guest calendar shows the Desert Sessions as having been removed and replaced with "Music - TBA". I will keep checking to see if it turns up again, perhaps on another night.

A new live photo from Germany has been added to the Live Gallery and a review of the Springfield, MO show can be read on the Reviews page.

You might want to check out the Jay Leno show on Thursday, December 18th. According to this website as well as the official page, that night's show will feature a Desert Sessions performance. No word yet on who, besides Josh Homme, will participate, but since A Perfect Circle will be on break, it's certainly a possibility that Jeordie could show up as well as Josh Freese, who also took part in the recording of the album. If I come up with any further info on this, I'll be sure to pass it along. Thanks to skwerl for the early warning on this one.

And yes, there is a problem this morning with the message board, but the problem is on the host's end, not mine. Just be patient...hopefully the bug will be worked out soon and the board will be up and running again.

December 10, 2003

The release of Melissa Auf Der Mauer's solo album, on which Jeordie makes a guest appearance along with APC bandmate James Iha, is now set for February 2, 2004 internationally and May 4, 2004 here in the U.S.
