Another photo has been added to the Candid gallery, courtesy of Anngelle Wood of the FNX Morning Show in Boston, MA. To listen to her interview with Jeordie and Billy, go to this page.

Expect A Perfect Circle to be third in line when the official Big Day Out 2004 lineup is announced on Friday morning, preceeding The Strokes and headliners Metallica. Other acts include The Mars Volta and Peaches.

"Crawl Home", which features PJ Harvey on vocals and Jeordie on "non-surf" guitar, will be the first single off the newly-released Desert Sessions Vol. 9 & 10. A video has already been shot, although it appears the only players featured are Josh Homme and PJ Harvey. There is also talk of a live Desert Sessions peformance sometime this Fall on The Jay Leno Show, but of course whether or not Jeordie could participate depends on his being able to work around his touring schedule with A Perfect Circle

The site has been updated today with the following: an interview with Jeordie from the October 2003 issue of Bass Player magazine and an accompanying photo which can be found in the Live gallery [thanks to Jessica]; two new photos in the Candid gallery [thanks to Carla Blalock]; the full Desert Sessions Vol. 9/10 (which was released today) credit listing; and a review of the Rotterdam show by "citizeninsane".

Thirteenth Step debuted on the charts this week at #2, with sales of just over 225,000 units.

The UK version of Desert Sessions Vol. 9/10 will have something that the U.S. release apparently won't -- a photo gallery and behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of the album. Pre-orders are being taken at www.101cd.com for £ 9.99 which includes shipping if you are in the UK. For orders outside the UK, a shipping charge will apply. If you are ordering from the US, the shipping charge is £ 3.00, which would bring the total to approximately U.S. $21.00. Note that while the U.S. pre-order through RekordsRekords indicates a release date of September 23, it is shown here as having an October 6 release.

Just a note to let everyone know that aperfectcircle.net is now up and running, although some of the sections are still under construction. Keep checking back for more material to be added and especially keep an eye on the Multimedia page, which is reputed to contain one of the best APC media libraries on the internet.

September 16, 2003

Two new photos have been added. The first, added to the Live page, comes from A Perfect Circle's official site, which re-launched today with a beautiful new design to coincide with the release Thirteenth Step. The second photo can be found in the Group/Promo gallery and was taken from the September 6 issue of Kerrang! magazine [thanks to "bkbtwiggy"].

Jeordie recently spoke to Launch Media to shed a little more light on the reasons behind his departure from Marilyn Manson. While insisting that the "Twiggy" makeup and costume was part of his personality, he says that he doesn't miss playing the role at all. "You know, ninety percent of the time in Manson, during the years I meant it, you know, it was a real extension of myself and I was really expressing myself and I was honest." he says. "But, towards the end, it got to be more of a job, so I kind of wanted to explore being a musician more than, um, you know, just a performer."

Last, but not least, a big congratulations to A Perfect Circle for putting out what has to be one of the best albums of the year, a truly amazing piece of work!

One of the first (if not *the* first) tour dates of APC's Fall U.S. tour has surfaced through Ticketmaster. The date is Friday, October 31st in San Antionio, TX at the Freeman Coliseum. Information regarding the on-sale date is not yet available.

September 11, 2003

With the release of Desert Sessions Vol. 9/10 getting closer (scheduled for release on September 23rd or October 7th, depending on which source you consult), Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme talked to this week's New Musical Express, going into detail about each track on the album. Since this might be of interest to some, what with Jeordie's involvement in the project, Josh's comments have been added to the Press page.

September 10, 2003

A Perfect Circle is featured in this week's Kerrang! magazine. The photos, one of which is a cover shot, have been added to the Group/Promo gallery. The interview is with the entire band and an excerpt featuring Jeordie reads as follows:
Sitting in the air-conditioned comfort of one of APC's two tour buses alongside a smiling Josh Freese, now shorn of his temporary facial appendages, Jeordie White, who replaced APC's original bassist Paz Lenchantin, (she left to follow another bald Billy in Zwan, and has since left that band too), is pausing for a second before answering the question he gets asked in every interview. His voice is slow and soothing, and a pair of piercing brown eyes stare out from his Picasso-esque features. The question, of course, is how being in APC compares to being in MM.

"It's like starting a relationship with somebody; you can't really compare them to each other. This band is definitely a group of equals," White begins. Wearily.

Whereas MM was ...

"I didn't say that," he snaps. "Don't put words into my mouth. I just said this is a group of equals. It's a relationship with four other people.

It came together real quick. Playing together, getting drunk together. Doing magic tricks together ..."
I will try to have the entire interview up sometime next week. Thanks to Xerxius, suicidedoll and lindalou for all of the above.

September 9, 2003

A couple of brief items to report today: First up, Billy Howerdel talked to Canadian music news outlet Chart Attack about the new album and the new lineup. Following is an excerpt from the interview concerning Jeordie (and James):
"I think Jeordie already proved himself with what he added to the recording. He’s fallen into APC’s not-so-Marilyn Manson life quite well. James… well, he had to learn so much dense material so quickly, we couldn’t help but be impressed. They’ve already injected some fresh life into things."

At this point, White and Iha begin an impromptu jig around Keenan at the other end of the tour bus. White’s hands flail madly about as Iha sports a lovely newspaper pirate hat. Howerdel and drummer Josh Freese are lost in laughter.

"Yeah, I think they’re going to add something special… and certainly keep us on our toes."
In conjunction with their sold out shows in Toronto tomorrow night and Thursday night, members of APC will make a guest appearance on Much Music at 5 p.m. on Thursday and following at 6 p.m. there will be an interview with radio personality The Brother at 102.1 The Edge.

In news from Down Under, according to the "Hard Rock" column of Sydney weekly publication Drum Media, Jeordie confirmed to them last week that APC will indeed be a part of Big Day Out 2004, which takes place in January.

Finally, two reviews -- London and Ottawa -- have been added to the Reviews page.

September 6, 2003

Jeordie's Metal Hammer interview can now be read on this site's message board under the A Perfect Circle forum. As soon as I get settled in my new place and get my life in some kind of order again, I will post the full interview, which also includes words from Billy, on the Interviews page. Thanks very, very much to "suicidedoll" for transcribing this, thus making it available a lot sooner than it would have been otherwise!

September 3, 2003

According to mtv.com, Desert Sessions Vol. 9/10 is now set for an October 7th release rather than September 23rd, although there still is no official confirmation on either date. Meanwhile, a track listing has surfaced as follows:

1.Dead In Love
2. I Wanna Make It Wit Chu
3. Covered In Punks Blood
4. There Will Never Be A Better Time
5. Crawl Home
6. I'm Here For Your Daughter
7. Powdered Wig Machine
8. In My Head...Or Something
9. Holey Dime
10. A Girl Like Me
11. Creosote
12. Subcutaneous Phat
13. Bring It Back Gentle
14. Shepherds Pie

Jeordie is not the only member of A Perfect Circle to have had a part in the recording of DS9/10, which took place out at Joshua Tree back in February under the direction of Queens of the Stone Age front man Josh Homme. Look for appearances by drummer Josh Freese, as well as former APC guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen.

A fan review from the Winnepeg show has been added to the Reviews page.

September 2, 2003

An interview with Jeordie appears in the October issue of Metal Hammer, where he talks openly about his new gig with APC and departure from Marilyn Manson, among other things.

"It's a little less unpredictable and there's a lot less danger involved - as far as comparing APC to Marilyn Manson is concerned," Jeordie says in the interview. "Being in MM was definitely more of a lifestyle and I had to pay way more attention to image and theatrics - but this band is just a little more classy. Don't get me wrong - I have no bad words to say about MM - but APC is definitely more focused on the music than on the attitude and image. It's not that I had a problem with the celebrity of MM - it's just the fact that the celebrity and the image outweighed the music and I wasn't happy with that. It seemed to get to the point where you could capture pictures of us in celebrity magazines at a movie premiere - which had nothing to do with music. Living in Hollywood you rub shoulders with other famous people and you find yourself hanging out with your peers like Sean Penn and Johnny Depp - which is great 'cos they're cool guys - but living with fame I obtained with MM I kind of personally lost perspective of why I got into this in the first place - you know - for art and music. But being part of APC excited me again."

I’m in the middle of a cross-country drive…well, semi-cross country, I guess, since my starting point was Chicago…but hope to have the full interview up in a few days when I get to LA where I can get my hands on the magazine. In the meantime, however, if anyone gets ahold of the magazine beforehand and can scan or transcribe (preferably the latter) the interview and email it to me or, better yet, post it on the message board, it will hopefully get on the site a bit sooner. A big thanks to Krazzy Joe and gabrieltoxic for the heads up on this item, since my internet access has been a bit more limited than usual the last few days.

A new photo which appears in Metal Hammer has been uploaded to the Live gallery.
