As of this posting, there's only "Four Rusted Horses" and "Pretty As A Swastika", but this person claims to have recorded the whole show, so expect more clips to be added. Great quality so far and also has some decent closeup footage.

[15:51] Great news -- well, if you are fluent in French, anyway. An interview with Jeordie/Twiggy will be featured in the July issue of the French music magazine Rock One (Issue No. 56) which hits the streets on July 3rd. This is one of his first interviews since rejoining Marilyn Manson, so it should be interesting. I will try to get a hold of an English translation and post it here for those of us who don't speak French.

[09:59] The Fan Reviews page has been updated with Ezekhiel's review of the Vienne performance.

Friday, 6.12.09

[19:05] OK, things are still tentative, but just wanted to give everyone the heads up to keep watch: Marilyn Manson plays the UK's Download Festival tomorrow night, June 13th, and as I posted here recently, there is the possibility of being able to watch the performance live. As of this posting, Manson's performance is still listed on the schedule as "TBC", i.e. "to be confirmed". Should that status change to a blue check mark, that means the go ahead has been given for the show be streamed live on the festival's website. Let's keep our fingers crossed! FYI, in order to determine what time the band would be taking the stage in your corner of the globe, you can use this handy time zone converter.

[14:30] Marilyn Manson is interviewed in the new issue (No. 55) of French rock magazine Rock One. Below are a few excerpts where he gives insight regarding the making of The High End of Low with Twiggy and their renewed partnership. Thanks to Ezekhiel for the translation.

Rock One : On "Eat Me Drink Me" you showed us the most emotional side of Brian Warner. Did you try to go on this path with "The High End Of Low" or did you create a new character, as you did for most of your previous records?

MM : With my last record "Eat Me Drink Me", it was difficult to understand who I really was. I often have trouble listening to it. There is only one song, "If I Was Your Vampire", that I would maybe play live again because it represents a part of my life, a destroyed persona who tries to rebuild himself. The new record is more about being in a fraternal relationship, a friendship that I share now and that I used to share in the past. Musically, there are things I have done without Twiggy that I am proud of, and he went on his own path. We both grew apart from each other when we should have grown together as brothers. Now we're back together again. We made this new record together, and it is something we couldn't have done separately. In a certain way it is the album we both always dreamt to write.

Rock One : How does this brotherhood shine through the album?

MM : The writing of this album began when Twiggy started playing and writing songs that didn't sound like anything he has done in the past. This record owns the characteristics of all that he loves, of all our influences, but his attitude was different. I thought that he was perhaps behind me, that he expressed this pain in his writings because just like me he had to go through this emotional battle mixing loss, love and romance. He is like my little brother. When we were away from each other, we said to ourselves that we had to grow up, meet people, I mean women of course. And he went through the same situation as me. We have the same sensitivity, but he hides it by seducing more women. When we found ourselves again, we realized that there was a deep void in our lives that we had to understand. Being there as a friend while writing the new album is what I missed for "Eat Me Drink Me". My partner at that time (Tim Skold) who had replaced Twiggy, wasnt allowed to take inspiration from his (Twiggy's) universe because he didnt belong to it. We (Twiggy and I) are writing music from a different point of view, it comes from the heart. My relationship with my ex partner was more financial than spiritual. When I listen to Twiggy's music, it sounds exactly as if I was the one who wrote it, not only because it sounds like some heart broken guys, but also because its sometimes violent, sometimes confused.
