The information keeps coming in this week regarding the new album and single, with www.aperfectcircle.org showing the release date of the album to be September 16th rather than the 30th as reported by MTV and further stating that blabbermouth.net's report of "The Outsider" as being the single was incorrect.

Reports are increasing regarding the possibility of an APC UK/European tour with the Deftones, which would commence in mid-September. Aside from a September 19th performance at London's Wembley Arena, no other dates have been spoken of at this time.
A track from Desert Sessions 9/10 was previewed the other night when QOTSA's Josh and Nick stopped in to talk to Mary Ann Hobbs on the BBC Radio 1's Rock Show. The track, featuring P J Harvey on vocals, is titled "Crawl Home". To listen to the interview and the song, click here and then look for the link for "The Rock Show" dated Tuesday, June 24. The interview with Josh and Nick kicks in about a half hour or so into the program. This is just an estimate, though, so don't be too liberal with the use of the "skip 5 minutes" function, should you choose to use it. Judging by this track alone, my bets are on this Desert Sessions being the best one yet!

There's new information today on the release of APC's upcoming album, with mtv.com now giving it a release date of September 30th. Their info was very sketchy, with no news on a title for the album or whether a single will be released to coincide with the band's Lollapalooza dates in mid-August.

The single from the A Perfect Circle's new album (still tentatively scheduled for an August 19th release) is said to be called "The Outsider". [Thanks to blabbermouth.net)]
In an attempt to clarify whether Desert Sessions 9/10 is still set for an August release or if it indeed has been pushed to October, I emailed the webmaster of Ipecac Recordings over the weekend. I received a reply this morning, stating that they do not yet have an official release date and I thought I would pass the info along for anyone who might be interested. While this certainly doesn't dismiss the possibility of an August release, I am now more inclined to believe that an October/Fall release is probably more likely. As soon as Ipecac has something official, I will let everyone know.

A photo of Jeordie which appears on the collage-style insert to the upcoming Mondo Generator CD, A Drug Problem That Never Existed, has been added to the Promo page. There is no official information that Jeordie had a part on the album itself, however, a press release warns that several of the guests may be using aliases, so you never know. To view the press release, along with lyrics and the rest of the album images, go here. A release date is set for either July 1st or July 7th (while the press release indicates July 7th, several other industry sources have indicated July 1st). Pre-orders are now being accepted at this location.

Lollapalooza has added another date which includes A Perfect Circle. The new date is August 24th at Columbia Meadows in St. Helens, Oregon, which is 33 miles west of Portland. Tickets are on sale as of 9:00 a.m. PST today at ticketswest.com. This will now be the final date of the Lollapalooza tour. Also, the August 16th show originally scheduled to take place at the Glen Helen Hyundai Pavillion in Devore has been moved to the Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre in Irvine, closer to the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

Giving further rise to hopes for APC's new album to hit the streets sometime this summer, cduniverse.com has it available for pre-order and gives the release date as being Tuesday, August 19th (with the title yet to be determined). Click here if you wish to put in your order, keeping in mind, however, that there still has not been an official announcement from either the APC camp or their label as to a release date and as such, this date could still be changed.

Although Ipecac Recordings still lists the release date as being in August, according to an article/interview that appears on MTV’s website today regarding the various side projects of QOTSA’s Josh Homme and Nick Oliveri, the release date for Desert Sessions 9&10 may now have (unfortunately) been pushed back to sometime in October. To read the full interview, click here. Hopefully there will be some good official news soon on the APC front and we'll still have something from them, if not in July, at least sometime in August to coincide with the band's Lollapalooza dates.

Amen frontman Casey Chaos spoke with Kerrang! after the band's performance at this weekend's Download Festival and again indicated that the Headband collaboration is still in the works, even if it might not be everyone's main priority at the moment. "Headband is a band that Josh Homme put together and he asked me to do it. It’s me Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri, Twiggy Ramirez, but we’re looking for a drummer to complete the band." says Chaos. "We spoke to Dave Grohl, that would be our dream drummer for our line-up, but I guess he’s real busy! Maybe we could use Dave just on the record, but we all have such conflicting schedules, and we’ve got this new Amen album, it’s 2 years since we’ve released an Amen album and we want to focus on that." The full interview with Casey Chaos will appear later this week on kerrang.com.
