FEBRUARY 2003

Here is a brief rundown on the now completed Desert Sessions #9-10. There are about 20 songs, all written and recorded in 6 days, one titled "neva Be" which features PJ Harvey on vocals. Of course, which songs make the final product has no doubt yet to be decided. Aside from Twiggy and PJ, the other major contributors included Chris Goss, Alain Johannes (Chris Cornell Band/Eleven), Dave Catching (Earthlings?), Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle), Dean Ween (Ween) and of course, Josh Homme, the guiding force behind the Desert Sessions series. Unfortunately, no confirmation on a release date yet, but hopefully this information will be forthcoming in the near future.

In addition to his work with A Perfect Circle, the Desert Sessions and Snowballs, now comes word that Twiggy has also lent some of his talents to Melissa Auf der Maur's (ex-Hole, Smashing Pumpkins) upcoming solo effort, slated for a late summer release on Capitol Records. Produced by Chris Goss (with whom Twiggy recently recorded what is said to be "truly amazing" tracks for the Snowballs project) the album also boasts appearances by QOTSA's Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri, Mark Lanegan and Troy van Leeuwen (who has left A Perfect Circle to become a permanent member of QOTSA). Meanwhile, work on the Desert Sessions is expected to wind up this week before QOTSA hit the road again this Saturday.

An interview that Twiggy did with MTV yesterday, telling his own story about joining A Perfect Circle, has been added to the Press page. Click here to read it. Early indications point to Twiggy using the name Jeordie White in this band. As he makes the transition, so will this website.

With writing and recording sessions for Desert Sessions Vol. 9&10 underway this week, this latest installment is tentatively scheduled for release sometime in August on the Ipecac label.

It's official: Twiggy has landed the bassist slot in A Perfect Circle. The press release issued today by APC reads as follows:

"Regarding the departure of the one known as "Paz" - Paz has been a vegan for many years. As many of you may know, sometimes the lack of protein in one’s diet can leave them borderline anemic and, occasionally, a bit delirious. After a festival show featuring APC and the The Smashing Pumpkins, Paz, in a state of “meat deprivation,” followed a “bald man named Billy” onto the wrong bus and we haven’t seen her since. Milk carton photos have, so far, been ineffective. Any help would be appreciated.

Regarding the “New Guy” on bass-

Jeordie White, otherwise known as “Twiggy,” (formerly of “Marilyn Manson,”) has replaced Paz as the new APC bass player. Jeordie, in between jobs, answered a classified ad in the "Music Connection” which read… “Established band seeks professional, experienced bass player. Must have a van and must resemble Don Knotts. Long hair a plus.” The rest is history. Congratulations, Jeordie. This is the biggest mistake you have ever or will ever make.

Regarding the abduction of the one currently known as “Troy VanLeeuwen,” and occasionally known as “Toby or Todd Lewin,”-

Reports have come in stating Troy has been seen hanging around with Craig Kilbourn. Other sources say Troy has been abducted by a hostile yet stable group of extraterrestrials posing as a band of Gypsy crack whores. Lucky for us, we have “fitted” Troy with a self-destruct mechanism for just such an occasion. If any of these “aliens” attempt what we in the biz refer to as a “Greek Wedding”… KABOOOM! Good luck, Troy. Come back often.

Regarding the “New Guy” on guitar-

Renholder. Figure it out. This multi-talented individual (who suffers from an extremely rare form of social tourette's) wears many hats; all of which he hangs on the wall next to his soiled futon. Impersonator of circus gorillas, moon walker, psychic medium to the stars, serial/cereal coupon hoarder, owner of the most extensive collection of “COPS” episodes on this planet, coined the term, “Tijuana boob job,” as well as aficionado of all things “boob job.” These are just a few of his many, many talents.

Regarding the “New Album Title”-

We are currently in litigation with The Offspring over this. More info on this subject will be posted as it becomes available.

love, apc"

APC are currently in the studio working on their follow up album to Mer de Noms, released in May of 2000. The new album is tentatively scheduled for a summer release.

Congratulations Twiggy -- or Jeordie, whichever it may be -- and best of luck to you in this newest venture! Your fans are proud of you!

An update on the Twiggy/Perfect Circle story: If KISS bassist and Tongue magazine editor Gene Simmons is to be believed, Twiggy is indeed a part of, or at least involved in some capacity with, A Perfect Circle. The following is a part of a February 7th news item over at Gene's official page, genesimmons.com:

"Bob Ezrin, who produced our best records, dropped by to say hello and after rehearsals took me next door to see PERFECT CIRCLE -- the new Virgin Records band that features Maynard from Tool on vocals and Twiggy Ramirez from Marilyn Manson."

Thanks to "zax546" for this latest information.

I must stress that at this point it is still in the rumor stage, but reports are circulating this afternoon that Twiggy has joined A Perfect Circle, replacing bassist Paz Lenchantin, who it appears has left to permanently join up with Billy Corgan's Zwan. This is all I have at this time. As soon as I can get more information and/or confirmation on this either way, I will let everyone know the status of this story. Stay tuned!

Fans of P J Harvey will be happy to know that all indications point to her being on board when Josh Homme, Twiggy and Dean Ween come together next week in Los Angeles to begin work on Desert Sessions Vol. 9-10. Recording is expected to be completed by time Queens of the Stone Age embark on another U.S. tour starting in Las Vegas on February 22. For more information on P J Harvey, this seems to be one of the better websites out there at the moment.
