More words on Head Band from the mouth of Casey Chaos, this time during an interview yesterday with UK online radio station TotalRock. "The other project in question," Casey said, speaking of his various endeavors outside Amen, "is one with Josh and Nick from Queens of the Stone Age, which basically has only seen rehearsals and preproduction type things and jamming, and Twiggy's in the band as well, he plays bass in it as well. So that's just seen rehearsals but we have probably about 8 songs, I would think, ideas, skeletons together." He goes on to describe the music as "Queens of the Stone Age meets Amen meets Bauhaus."

In the ongoing effort to introduce some of the people Twiggy has been working with of late to those who may not already be familiar with them, I found two really good articles on Chris Goss over at mastersofreality.co.uk that I thought I would share, one from 2001 and a more recent one from 2002, both of which should give some good background information on Goss' prior work, both with Masters of Reality and as a producer. Many other good articles can be found at that site for those who may have a further interest.

Perhaps there is still some hope for Head Band seeing the light of day eventually. Amen's Casey Chaos is interviewed in the new issue of Metal Hammer, wherein he speaks a bit about his side projects, including Head Band. That part of the interview reads as follows:

"Josh came up to me at a show and said 'Hey, I want to start a band with you and I want it to be really broadshouldered so you walk down the street and no one can bump into you. It's going to be so in your face, like a brawler.' We set up a week of rehearsals, and the day before Josh called and said, 'What do you think about Twiggy being involved? Two bass players?' I thought it sounded great! The next day we went in and started on a song I worked on, then a Josh one, then a Twiggy one. We collaborated as a group of people and it was inspiring. I look forward to finishing it...when we have the time."

Amen kicks off a UK tour on January 31st. Meanwhile, work continues on the Snowballs project, which so far consists of Twiggy, Chris Goss (sharing vocals) and Zach Hill, who it seems has taken permanent leave of his drumming chores with aforementioned Amen.

A new photo, taken at the October 30th Blender Sessions party (where Twiggy jammed with Camp Freddy), has been added to the Candid Gallery.

A new message board has been added to the site, and thus, the old one has been deleted. Those who were registered on the old board will obviously have to re-register on this one, but the registration process is a lot simpler and less confusing than the old one. After playing around with several over the last month or so, this one seemed to be the easiest to work with all around. Click here to access the new board.

Just wanted to briefly address the Twiggy/Metallica rumors that seem to be running rampant at the moment. The official stand taken by the Metallica camp when the invitation-only auditions for the open bassist slot began late last year was that out of respect for the candidates involved they would not be releasing any names. Therefore, anything you are hearing now about Twiggy having auditioned for Metallica really comes down to nothing more than speculation. Since there have been so many different names tossed about during the last few months regarding who is or will be auditioning, who’s been chosen, etc., I think at this point it is best to wait for word from Metallica themselves before jumping to any conclusions. If and when the Metallica boys officially confirm anything that concerns Twiggy, I’ll be sure to pass it on here. In the meantime, I will continue to follow up on the work on his solo material and his anticipated involvement in next Desert Sessions installment.

Twiggy's bed, as seen on MTV Cribs, is now up for sale at the Manson Museum Trade Page. The bed is cast iron and comes with the smoke machine as demonstrated by Twiggy on the Cribs episode. The cost is $1500 plus shipping fees.

Hello, and welcome to the new year, a year in which we can hopefully anticipate new material from Twiggy. News is a little slow at the moment, typical for this time of year as everyone gets back in gear from the holidaze, but I've added two pics from a 1998 in-store appearance to the Candid gallery. As soon as there are any updates regarding Twiggy's activities and projects, I will let everyone know.

With Twiggy scheduled to participate in the upcoming Desert Sessions #9-10 project, I found an interview that Josh Homme did with VH-1 at the time of the release of Desert Sessions #7-8 which should give anyone unfamiliar with the Desert Sessions series a little bit more information on what it's all about.
