Current Status

A first round of tour dates kick off on February 24th and rehearsals for the new show are ongoing. Dean Karr is handling the album artwork and has shot photos for an upcoming issue of Revolver magazine. Still no set release date for Born Villian but a short film that ties in with the record (and features new music) can be viewed here. New Goon Moon material is also being worked on as well as a side project involving Motley Crue's Mick Mars.

Considered by many to be the definitive Marilyn Manson record, Antichrist Superstar also ranks among the band's most controversial and provocative pieces of work due to its "anti-christian" content. This album inarguably establishes Jeordie as a major creative force behind the music - credited for a majority of the guitar work as well as bass, he also has writing credits for the music on almost all of the album's 17 tracks, including one of Manson's biggest hits, "The Beautiful People". This album is said to be the concluding installment of a "Triptych" released in reverse order, including 2000's Holy Wood and 1998's Mechanical Animals. [07:56] Marilyn Manson has been confirmed to be part of the line up of this year's Rock on the Range festival, which takes place May 18th, 19th and 20th in Columbus, OH. Tickets go on sale February 10th at 10:00 a.m.

[21:52] Another date for Europe: July 6th at the Les Ardentes Festival in Liege, Belgium. More info here. Please note that with these dates coming out randomly and one at a time, it probably makes more sense to just post new dates on Twitter and updating the Tour page rather than posting here, until we get something more substantial in the way of an actual tour announcement.

[13:34] Finally some good news for U.S. fans: According to Lazer 103.3's Concert Calendar, Marilyn Manson will be playing the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines, IA on May 8th with tickets going on sale February 3rd through Ticketmaster. Hopefully this means a full round of U.S. dates will be announced in the very near future?

[15:30] Marilyn Manson's Tour page has been updated with a couple of new European dates (Tilburg, Paris) -- and has also confirmed which dates the band will be playing at the Metaltown (June 15th) and Copenhell (June 16th) festivals.

[19:14] Marilyn Manson will headline three sidewave shows while in Australia for the Soundwave Festival: Brisbane on February 24th (Eaton Hills Hotel), Sydney on February 29th (Enmore Theatre) and Perth on March 6th (Metro City). Tickets to all three go on sale this Friday, December 16th at 9 a.m. See the Tour page for the info. In other tour news, Manson has been confirmed to be playing Denmark's Copenhell Festival which takes place June 15 and 16, though the specific date Manson will perform has not yet been announced.

[23:51] As tweeted earlier, musicfeeds.com reports that Marilyn Manson is strongly rumored to be among the many acts scheduled to appear at Australia's Soundwave 2012 music festival which takes place February 25th through March 5th. Both triplem.com and fasterlouder are also reporting on this. While there is no official confirmation from Manson's management at the moment, the lineup will be announced this Friday, October 7th, so not long to wait before we know for sure either way....
